Australian Camp and Sarangkot Trek

Australian Camp  and Sarangkot trek is a great exploration in the beautiful mountains of the Annapurna region. The hiking offers gorgeous views over the valleys and stunning views of the Annapurna Mountain range. The hike takes you through dense forests, along the hillsides and rice fields, up to the mountains and through mountain villages.

This one day hike starts and ends in Pokhara driving to Kande for an hour and commence hiking. A gentle climb from Kande through the villages and forests will take you to Australian Camp from where you will have great mountain views of the Annapurna Range.

Sarangkot is the most popular tourist destination from where the tourists can enjoy the great view of the Pokhara Valley and the magnificent view of the mountains such as Annapurna Massif, Fishtail Mountain, Dhaulagiri range, and Manaslu. Sarangkot is only 5 km from Lake Side from Pokhara and highest view point at 1592m high for Sunrise and Sunset view over the snowy peaks. Sarangkot can be reached easily by 45 minutes by a car ride to the top from Pokhara and then 45 minutes hike up to the main view point.

A magnificent view of the Annapurna mountain rangers an early morning sun rise breath taking view of the mountain peaks clothed inte the silver clothing of the sun rays as the sun rises. An excellent view which will be lingering in your mind for years to come.

Australian Camp and Sarangkot trek offers you to look closely some of the beautiful Himalayas including Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri range, Machhapuchhre and other. However, some major attractions of this trek are Pokhara Valley, Sarankot hill, Australian Camp and Dhampus villages.

We begin Austrian Camp and Sarangkot trek from  Pokhara, drive anound 40 minutes to Sarangkot Hill (1565m). This hill sits north of Pokhara overlooking the valley and Fewa Lake. Sarangkot is a beautiful hill, famous for its sunrise, where on a clear day you can see an unobstructed view of the Himalayan Mountains of Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri range, Fishtail and also beautiful green hills, terraces of rice and the beautiful view of Pokhara valley.

After the amazing view, we have breakfast in Sarangkot. We hike to Australian Camp (2055m). It takes about 5 hours of hiking to get there. During this hike, we may see mountains view and local villages, local people and way of lifestyle. The terrace of rice on our way look wonderful. Australian Camp is a beautiful village best known for its sunrise, sunset, and view of Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre and also beautiful green hills.

The journey from Australian Camp to Dhampus village is a nice trail. We walk through the jungle from Australian Camp to Dhampus (1694m) and on the background, you will see Himalayas view. Walking on the stone step down from Dhampus village we reach Phedi  and drive back to Pokhara…

Itinerary

Early in the morning, drive to Sarangkot. You will enjoy the view of sunrise and Himalayas View. Trek from Sarangkot to Australian Camp. It is about 5-6 hours walking. In the evening, you will see the nice sunset from Australian Camp, Overnight at Lodge.

We get up in the morning to see sunrise and beautiful Himalayas view. After that, we have breakfast at the Lodge; hike down from Australian Camp to Phedi via Dhampus village. The trail is all the way down from Australian Camp to Phedi and drives back to your Hotel in Pokhara
