Manaslu Trek

provides you with a glance at awesome Mount Manaslu (8,156 m). Mt. Manaslu, which is the eighth tallest mountain in the world. Along the trail, you will have the chance to get mesmerized with the rich local heritage and biological diversity of the area. The major highlight, as well as the highest point in the trip, is “Larkya La Pass”. Actually, if you are looking for a trail full of adventure, diverse range of scenery but will less crowd then Manaslu Trek is the best option for you.

Unlike Annapurna Base Camp and Everest Base Camp, the travelers in this route are less. According to the people who have been to this Manaslu trek, the difficulty is rated to be challenging as it is one of the off-beaten treks in Nepal.

Although the trek takes in the remote area, there are teahouses at everyday stage, so trekkers don’t need to bring food. Manaslu Trek takes place in the restricted region. You will need a special restricted area permit, which can be issued by your trekking company. You will also need to have ACAP and MCAP permit for this trek.

Itinerary

Our trip will start from Kathmandu. Our ride will be on paved road till Dhading besi. Now the real adventure starts when we go pass the Dhading besi to Arughar which will be on bumpy off-road. Upon reaching Arughat we move forward to Soti Khola. From Soti Khola we travel to Lapubesi which will be the end of the first day. Overnight at some tea house.

Estimated time: 8-10 hrs. to reach Arughat from Ktm

The next morning, you will enjoy warm breakfast enjoying the landscape nature offers. Trek from Lapuneshi to Maccha Khola is narrow and rocky. The stunning view will get you engaged with the walk. Walking from many ascends and descends, we will have our rest at Kerauja (990 m).

After having hot water shower and relaxing our soaring body at Tatopani our journey begins. We will have to cross a long bridge to reach Jagat (Gurung village). Upon reaching the Jagat, you will have to verify your trekking permit. Walking in restricted region begings from Jagat.

Next day, starting our trek from Jagat  we will be able to come across areas where you can taste local alcohol before reaching Phillim. After Phillim we will head towards Pewa and then Bihi Phedi, which will be the final destination. You can also see many white faced monkeys there.

After sunrise our trek will proceed to Ghap. Ghap is were the Tibetan cultre begins. This area is full of landslide zones so we must be extra carefull. After the landslide zone we will be heading towards our destination Namrung. Namrung offers some of the best teashops and restaurant.

We will start our day with Nubri people with their Tibetan culture. Today is the day where you will get the chance to view Manaslu and Manaslu North. From onwards you have to be careful because be will be gaining altitude.

We will continue with short and sweet trek from now onwards because of the altitude reason. Hiking further from Lho to Shyala village we will be surrounded by high mountains like Himal Chuli and Peak 29 (Ngadi Chuli) to the left, Manaslu and large glaciers straight ahead. Samagaon is where we  spend our night.

With short walk from Samagaon we will reach Birendra Tal. Prevention is better than cure, hence we must be careful of suffering from altitude. As we are in high altitude it’s better to walk slowly. Once at Samdo, you can  visit nearby villages or hike the Samdo Peak.

This is another awesome day for you so must respect your body sign as we are still at height. Enjoying the view of amazing mountain peaks  we will reach to Dharamshala. It’s a beautiful village which has lots to offer.

Now the day has come to reach the highest point of the trek. We will be reaching to Larkya La Pass where the weather can be challenging. Spending the day with the scene we will move towards Bhimtang for overnight stay.

Starting our day from Bhimtang we will get to observe rhododendron forest and a trail through a narrow valley until we reach the highest cultivated land of the valley at “Karche”.  The trail from Karche drops to Gurung Gowa, village since Samdo. We will spend our night at Gowa.

Next day we cross the bridge over Dudh Khola and climb up to reach Thonje Village. After reaching the village we will go through check post and continue to Dharapani. From here, we have entered the Annapurna circuit section. We will also come across mani walls before reaching the village of Tal where we will have our stay.

Next morning we follow the trail to Chamje village crossing the beautiful Marsyangdi Khola via a suspension bridge. The trail then descends through rhododendron and pine forests to Syange where we will have our rest and call it the end of day.

Today we will walk until we hit the road for the drive. Drive from Syange to Kathmandu via Besi Sahar once again will provide you the opportunity to see diverse landscapes.
